University of Zurich, Botanical Garden, Stabilization Measures II

The Building Department of the Canton of Zurich, represented by the Office of Building Construction, is holding a public tender on behalf of the University of Zurich for the award of general planning services (design, tender and implementation) for stabilization measures II of the institute buildings at the Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich. A general planning team is sought consisting of specialists in planning services in the fields of architecture, construction management and HLKKSE with experience of stabilization measures during ongoing operation of heritage-protected buildings, preferably institute buildings with multiple users. The general planning is to carry out the design with high technical and organizational competence and sensitivity towards the various users and authorities, and to implement the construction project sustainably, cost- and quality-conscious as well as on schedule. Construction Project The institute buildings at the Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich from the late 1970s require a comprehensive renovation after decades of use. This is planned for the period 2036 – 2039. Until then, stabilization measures are to ensure safe operation. The Botanical Garden site is listed in the inventory of gardens and facilities worthy of protection of municipal importance and is subject to the requirements of garden and heritage conservation. Under these framework conditions, among other things, the building envelope, building systems and fire safety must be examined and upgraded.
