Design Competition in Open Procedure I Redesign of Seeplatz Küssnacht am Rigi

The objective of the open competition procedure is to find a comprehensive open space project for Seeplatz in Küssnacht am Rigi that equally addresses the special lakeside location, the function as an access zone to the church, and the integration into the overall quay development, while enabling diverse and long-term use of public space. Seeplatz is to be developed as an attractive recreational and leisure space for all age groups. This new public space is to become a central meeting place and social gathering point for the Küssnacht population. The redesign also strengthens the quay development as a tourist destination. The redesign enables the creation of a high-quality, freely accessible recreational area on the lake that reinforces the landscape, urban design, and atmospheric qualities of the location.
