Planning Competitions – Canton Schwyz

Schwyz benefits from its location in the greater Zurich catchment area and has a growing competition volume. Schwyz town, Küssnacht, Arth and Freienbach are regular clients. Population growth and rising commuter flows drive school building, community centre and housing development procurement.

The canton uses open project competitions under SIA 142. Firms from the Zurich agglomeration regularly participate in Schwyz competitions.

The tourism importance of Lake Lucerne, the Rigi and the Mythen occasionally generates competitions for leisure and tourism infrastructure. As a historic founding canton of the Confederation, Schwyz has a strong cultural identity that manifests in public building projects.
