New Kindergarten Building Metzgersmatten Allschwil

The municipality of Allschwil is planning to replace the Metzgersmatten kindergarten with two kindergarten classes. The current kindergarten no longer meets functional, pedagogical and technical requirements and is to be replaced by a compact, sustainable new building in timber construction. The outdoor space is currently partially inadequate in functional terms. As part of the construction project, the outdoor space is to be redesigned and aligned with current movement, activity and learning needs of children. The replacement building is to develop in contemporary fashion its role as an identity-building reference point for the neighbourhood and incorporate the site quality at the Bachgraben promenade. It must be well integrated in terms of scale, volume and open space.
