Question Round on SBB BIM Guidelines

Since early 2025, SBB has been working according to the BIM method. The guidelines applicable to SBB BIM projects are available at www.sbb.ch/bim. The aim of the « Question Round on SBB BIM Guidelines » is to provide detailed and practice-focused answers to questions or clarifications regarding the publicly available SBB BIM guidelines in dialogue. This is intended to give potential external partners the opportunity to prepare themselves for collaboration in an SBB BIM project or to engage generally with the topic « BIM with SBB ». The following topics are excluded from the question round: No general, SBB-independent questions on BIM methodology will be answered in the question round. No questions on specific SBB BIM projects will be answered in the question round. Project-specific questions will be answered by the established SBB support organization for BIM projects. No questions on specific calls for tenders will be answered in the question round. Tender-specific questions must be submitted within the framework of the corresponding call for tender. No questions on the evaluation of minimum requirements, suitability and award criteria, and no questions on contract contents will be answered in the question round. The answers from the question round will not be published subsequently and will be answered exclusively during the event. The event will be recorded for internal follow-up processing. The recording will not be published and will be deleted after follow-up processing. No other recordings are permitted. For calls for tenders, the corresponding tender documents always apply. The event will be held online on different dates. The next event will take place on: 3 June 2026, 15:30 to 17:00 Further events in 2026 (with separate announcement to follow): 28 October 2026, 15:30 to 17:00 This specialist event will be held in German, Italian and French. Questions will be answered in the national language in which they are submitted. The event is suitable for participants with a focus on planning and execution using the BIM method. It cannot be ruled out that English-language technical terms will be used. The event will take place ONLINE.
