Village Bypass Henau, Municipality of Uzwil

The Henau village bypass project consists of two parts; on the one hand the design of the village square and the adjacent street alignments (civil/road construction) as well as the rehabilitation of the Henauerbach stream (hydraulic engineering). For the upgrading of the village square of Henau, a design concept was developed in 2025, for which a preliminary project must now be created. In addition, the junctions of Thuraustrasse, Oberbergstrasse and Buscheistrasse must be examined. In connection with this, the location of the bus stop « Henau, Kirchplatz » must also be clarified. For this, a variant study must be conducted in the preliminary project phase, with the best variant subsequently being further developed. The street space should be considered from facade to facade. The village bypass is part of the Agglomeration Programme 4th Generation. For the rehabilitation of the Henauerbach stream, a variant study was conducted in 2023. Building on the best variants for each section, a preliminary project was developed in 2025. This provides for a gravel collector, to which an open transition section is connected. It discharges via an intake structure into a culvert. The culvert is initially designed as a pipe section and then transitions to a rectangular channel. Subsequently, the Henauerbach returns to an open channel. According to the revision of the Water Protection Ordinance of 2011, the water reserve area of rivers, streams and lakes must be defined. In the case of the Henauerbach stream, the water reserve area has not yet been definitively established. In the course of the project, the water reserve area must be defined.
