Cantonal Road No. 62, Berg: Village Street Correction

Cantonal Road No. 62 extends from the cantonal boundary Thurgau near Landquart via Berg to the cantonal boundary Thurgau near Freidorf. The project concerns in the municipality of Berg SG the section of the village street in the village center (former Restaurant Rebstock to pedestrian crossing No. 355). As part of the "Village Street Correction" project, the building on plot No. 127 will be demolished and, within the scope of an investor project of the municipality of Berg, reconstructed with a slight offset while maintaining the defined road distances. The new design of the village street is carried out taking into account the variant decision (Variant A) from the preliminary study. The objective is safe and appropriate traffic management for all road users. A continuous sidewalk, improvements for bicycle traffic, as well as optimized accessibility and visibility for motorized individual traffic are planned. Furthermore, it is planned to reduce the maximum speed to 30 km/h and to optimize the location of the pedestrian crossing No. 356 with regard to visibility and layout. The services to be offered include phases 31, 32, 33, 41, 51, 52, 53 according to the SIA 103 Ordinance as well as the definitions in the tender documents.
