Laufen Castle at the Rhine Falls, Dachsen, comprehensive renovation
The Building Department of the Canton of Zurich, represented by the Office of Building Construction, is holding a call for proposals on behalf of the Real Estate Office for the award of the general planning services (design, tender and implementation) for the comprehensive renovation of Laufen Castle at the Rhine Falls in Dachsen. Laufen Castle at the Rhine Falls is one of the most significant cultural and tourism sites in the Canton of Zurich and is now facing a comprehensive overall renovation. The historically developed complex, whose origins date back to the Middle Ages, is restored in a manner respectful of the monument and strategically further developed. The aim is to ensure long-term access to this unique cultural asset while simultaneously creating a high-quality offer in the fields of gastronomy, hospitality as well as seminar and event use. In addition to the renewal of the existing building substance, the project includes the expansion of the visitor centre and the development of centralised building services. Particular challenges lie in construction within the existing fabric, in dealing with heritage-protected substance and in operations within a heavily frequented tourist destination. We are seeking a general planner with high architectural, building technology and organisational competence and proven experience in the development and implementation of complex construction projects. The planning team pursues the specified project goals consistently and is capable of developing, planning and implementing a construction project efficiently and in compliance with cost and schedule requirements. In doing so, it fulfils the project requirements to the best possible extent and ensures implementation at a high level of building culture. Applications for participation must be submitted in accordance with the instructions in the call for proposals documents. The selection of a maximum of five participating bidders will be made on the basis of the eligibility criteria set out in the call for proposals documents. The proposal to be submitted by the selected general planning teams includes the solution to three project-specific tasks and a quotation for the fee parameters to be applied. The submission of an application for prequalification (phase 1) is not compensated. All complete proposals submitted on time to the Office of Building Construction (phase 2) will be compensated at a flat rate of CHF 8,000.- (incl. VAT) per team.
