Replacement of Sinne Bridge City of Thun – Designer Selection Procedure according to SIA 144
The Sinne Bridge is a central urban connection across the Aare River in the City of Thun and performs an important function in the urban transport network for motorized private traffic, public transport, as well as pedestrian and bicycle traffic. The site is located in the oldest historical part of the City of Thun. According to a structural assessment, the structure exhibits significant deficiencies. The feasibility study carried out shows that replacement is necessary. The subject of this tender is the planning and implementation of the replacement of the Sinne Bridge (SIA 31-53) in the City of Thun. To handle this demanding task, an interdisciplinary general planning team is sought. This ensures integrated planning "from a single source" and combines the required expertise in the fields of civil engineering and architecture. The general planning team comprises in particular the following key competencies: Civil Engineering (lead): With the specialist areas Bridge Construction/Structures, Civil Engineering including Geotechnics, Hydraulic Engineering and TransportArchitecture: With focus on design, integration into the urban context and urban spatial quality The procurement of the general planning team is carried out by the Civil Engineering Department of the City of Thun as part of a selective designer selection procedure according to SIA 144. The procedure comprises the following phases: Phase 1 – Pre-qualification: With a pre-qualification (PQ), 3–4 general planning teams are selected who will be invited to participate in the second phase based on their professional qualifications and experience.Phase 2 – Tender: The selected 3–4 general planning teams prepare a tender offer based on the tender documentation.
