Planning Competitions – Canton Bern

Bern is Switzerland's largest canton by area and one of the most active in planning competitions. As a bilingual canton (German/French), competitions are often issued in both languages. The federal city of Bern and towns like Biel, Thun and Burgdorf are regular clients, especially for school buildings and renovation of public buildings.

Bern canton frequently requires selective procedures under SIA 143 for public projects. Competitions from the Bernese Jura are often issued in French. In the Bernese Oberland, tourism and renovation of existing buildings dominate the procurement landscape.
