VS Tscharnergut, Complete Renovation, Design Team Selection Procedure
After approximately 60 years of operation, the Tscharnergut school complex is to be completely renovated. The buildings at Fellerstrasse 18, 20, 22 and 24 as well as Waldmannstrasse 19 and 19a will be fully refurbished and upgraded with respect to energy efficiency. The surrounding area, which was renovated in 2011/12, is also to be reviewed and adapted if necessary. As part of the complete renovation of the school buildings, the space program will be adapted to contemporary teaching and learning methods as well as to the growing number of pupils. The project pursues the Swiss Standard for Sustainable Construction (SNBS) with Minergie-Eco and a Low-Tech approach. For the design and implementation of the complete renovation, a master planning team consisting of the disciplines civil engineering, building systems (HVAC-E), building physics, sustainability and landscape architecture, led by an architecture firm, is sought through a selective procedure.
