Development Val da Schluein: Subproject SP3 Torrent Control Dams, Engineering Works

The torrent in Val da Schluein (Schlueinertobel) is equipped with a multitude of barriers and channelized in the upper cone area. In the catchment area, several barriers were severely damaged during an event in 2004. The condition of the barriers has significantly deteriorated since and is a matter of concern. The urgency of the project is classified as high because several residential buildings are located in the red hazard zone. The damaged torrent barriers in the catchment area are to be repaired so that excessive bed load material is not mobilized during flooding. However, the renovation of the barriers in the difficult-to-access, steep sub-catchment area of Val da Tschessas is to be dispensed with as this would require disproportionate efforts. Engineering work is to be submitted and processed for the project (Submission project (Procurement) / Execution project / Site management / Commissioning / CONCLUSION) according to SIA phases 41, 51, 52 and 53.
