Complete Renovation Brünigberg, Geology Specialist

Zentralbahn intends to renovate several sections of line 470 between Lungern and Meiringen in the years 2029 to 2031. The length of the affected section is approximately 8.8 km. The renovation includes the entire superstructure and, in sections, a complete renovation of the substructure. The mountain section comprises the renewal of three rack railway sections, one adhesion section as well as two level crossings in difficult terrain with extremely demanding logistics, a tunnel, several support structures, the catenary, the level crossings, parts of the electrotechnical installations as well as three smaller bridges or culverts. The following concrete objectives are to be achieved: − Review of existing documentation (geology, hydrogeology, geotechnics, contaminated sites, gravel sampling, etc.) and definition of missing documentation − Assistance in the justification of civil engineering structures, in particular support structures, throughout the entire project perimeter − Preparation, execution and evaluation of any additional required surveys including reporting − Comprehensive development of all required concepts in the specified area as a basis for further planning steps − Proactive specialist advice and support for the overall project team − Achievement of all PM objectives in all project phases according to SIA LHO103 − Adherence to schedules and costs in all project phases − High process and product quality within all project phases The geology specialist handles all geological and geotechnical aspects for the planning team.
