Design Competition - Development of Ennetbürgen School Campus
Through the development of the school campus, the municipality of Ennetbürgen aims to meet future spatial requirements for primary and secondary education as well as physical education – also taking into account expected population growth. Furthermore, the infrastructure should be adapted to current pedagogical requirements and building recommendations. As part of the design competition, holistic planning for the future development of the Ennetbürgen school campus is envisaged. The central task consists of developing a spatial concept for school facilities that meets the current and future needs of public education. Specifically, the planning includes: · Classrooms for cycle 1 (kindergarten and lower primary) · Classrooms for cycle 2 (middle primary 1 and 2) · Specialist rooms for all three cycles (1-3), including spaces for natural sciences, arts and crafts, textile and technical work, home economics and other specific subject areas · School administration with secretariat and school management · Day care structure for lunch and after-school supervision · Playgroup A central element of the project is also the construction of a new triple gymnasium, which will serve not only school sports but also be made available to village associations outside school hours. This aims to achieve sustainable, multi-purpose use of the infrastructure in the interests of the municipality. Beyond school requirements, the future accommodation of municipal administration is also part of the planning task. The municipal administration is to be spatially integrated into the new school campus and consolidated at the same location with school administration. This creates synergies and a compact, functional centre for education, sports and administration. The planning should bring existing and new buildings together functionally and spatially by presenting architecturally and urbanistically convincing, future-proof and sustainable solutions. Furthermore, a redesign of the outdoor spaces is planned with the aim of creating a functional and design link to the existing outdoor sports facilities. The existing outdoor facility is to be complemented by the new development and reimagined as a unified ensemble. Recreation areas are to be designed in an age-appropriate manner taking into account additional uses. The functionality of the existing outdoor sports facilities should be preserved if possible.
