Overall Traffic Model Aargau OTM-AG, Complete Update 2025 and Operational Services
The Overall Traffic Model Aargau is a macroscopic representation of traffic demand and supply across the canton's territory. It is primarily focused on passenger transport and considers the following modes of transport: motorized individual traffic (MIT), public transport (PT), walking and cycling. The OTM-AG is used for planning traffic supply and by political institutions for communication and decision-making. It serves to assess the impacts of measures from transport policy, planning and traffic engineering and thereby promotes well-founded decisions. The current model was reconstructed on the base year 2015 with a forecast horizon of 2040 and has since been partially updated. However, data on structural characteristics, traffic behavior and PT supply date from 2015 or earlier. In the foreseeable future, neither the currency of the current state nor the forecast horizon will meet the requirements for this planning baseline. Therefore, the model is to be completely renewed with current data. Scope and content of the assignment: Complete update Preparation and updating of the data foundation for demand and supply: behavioral parameters from micro-census and SP survey 2025, structural data (population, employed persons, etc.), road and cycling networks, PT schedules, external traffic, road, cycling and PT count data, etc. Review and local adjustment of the zone structure Development of demand models for the year 2025, the base case and the strategic forecast 2050 for average weekday traffic. The strategic forecast should consider measures and priorities from the strategy and plans, including the strategies of the comprehensive traffic concepts (CTCs) of the various regions. Adjustments are possible both in supply and in structural data, traffic behavior and costs. Derivation of assignment model versions for average daily traffic, morning peak hour and evening peak hour Examination of results and changes, reporting and updating of model documentation Creation of congestion maps 2. Operational services: Technical support, advice and assistance as well as analyses and model applications.
