N08, construction site area Gnoll – Wacht Curve (site office), offices of the contractor as well as ASTRA Infrastructure branch in Thun or headquarters in Ittigen (meetings).

The expansion and maintenance project «Brünig Gnoll – Wacht Curve» adapts and expands the Brünig Pass road (NS 3rd class) between the junction with Meiringen road (Gnoll) and before the Wacht curve to current standards and requirements. The main component is a continuous road widening with mountain-side retaining walls and valley-side cantilever slab structures. Additionally, the guardrails, drainage system and BSA facility (pipe block) are replaced and the entire road body is renewed. For the execution and traffic management, a temporary auxiliary bridge is constructed. The construction period lasts approximately 4-5 years. The advertised contract includes site management construction in the following phases: Assistance with the tender procedure (Phase 41); site management (Phase 52); and assistance with commissioning and project completion (Phase 53). The mandate requires close coordination with the construction project designer and the chief site manager.
