Replacement Construction of Sinne Bridge City of Thun – Planner Selection Procedure according to SIA 144
The Sinne Bridge is a central inner-city connection across the Aare River in the city of Thun and fulfils an important function in the urban traffic network for motorised individual traffic, public transport as well as pedestrian and bicycle traffic. The site is located in the historically oldest part of the city of Thun. According to static inspection, the structure has significant defects. The feasibility study elaborated shows that a replacement construction is required. The subject of the present tender is the planning and realisation of the replacement construction of the Sinne Bridge (SIA 31-53) in the city of Thun. For the execution of this challenging task, an interdisciplinary master planning team is sought. This ensures integrated planning "from a single source" and combines the required expertise in the fields of civil engineering and architecture. The master planning team comprises in particular the following key competencies : Civil Engineering (lead): With the specialist fields Bridge Construction/Structures, Civil Works incl. Geotechnics, Hydraulics as well as TrafficArchitecture : With focus on design, integration into the urban context and urban space quality The procurement of the master planning team is carried out by the Department of Public Works of the city of Thun as part of a selective planner selection procedure according to SIA 144. The procedure is divided into the following phases : Phase 1 – Pre-qualification: A pre-qualification (PQ) selects 3–4 master planning teams which, based on their technical qualifications and experience, are invited to participate in the second phase.Phase 2 – Tender: The selected 3–4 master planning teams prepare a tender offer based on the tender documents.
