B.10465 | USZ District Heating System Renewal without Steam | BKP 298 General Planner | OV
According to tender documents at https://www.xatena.com/prod/offer/public/105299372
The University Hospital Zurich (USZ) is heated by district heating. For heat supply, high-pressure steam (HDD) and pressurised hot water (PHW) from the Electricity Works of the City of Zurich (EWZ) are available. Using HDD, low-pressure steam (NDD) is distributed across the site from heat transfer stations. The NDD network is connected to steam humidifiers, autoclaves, bedpan washers, washing machines and steam kettles. The district heating network HDD will be decommissioned by 2034 at the latest. As a result, heat supply to buildings must in future be provided entirely via PHW, and an alternative solution must be implemented for NDD supply. As part of feasibility studies, the consequences of district heating shutdown (HDD) by supplier EWZ were examined and possible courses of action identified.
