New School Complex Ebnet, Nürensdorf | Design Competition for Lead Consultants
The school complex Ebnet in the centre of Nürensdorf was constructed between 1959 and 1964. The centrally located kindergarten with the caretaker's apartment has been used only for secondary purposes since the construction of the double kindergarten in 2015. The planned central building (subject of the competition) replaces this structure and meets the large space requirements for day-care structures and provides the school with additional areas for therapy and support services. The central building to be planned should form a convincing urban planning and architectural solution together with the existing buildings. Organisationally and operationally, it supports a forward-looking school. The multipurpose building is not affected and will remain. The two wings 1 and 2 will be renovated in stages following the realisation of the central building and slightly expanded (not subject to the competition). In its final state, the central building will be used for therapy and support services, care provision, and work and meeting areas for the team. The implementation of the overall concept envisages providing the central building as provisional space for the uses of wing 1 during its renovation in a first phase. In the second phase, it serves as provisional space for the renovation of wing 2. Only after completion of these two renovation phases will it be put to its intended use.
