Mitholz Project, Evacuation of former ammunition depot: Technical investigations, Hydrology mandate, Amendment N02
During World War II, an underground military ammunition depot was constructed at Mitholz BE. In 1947, part of the stored ammunition exploded. The risk assessment conducted at that time for the remaining ammunition depot was classified as non-critical. New risk assessments conducted in 2018 and 2020 revealed a higher risk than previously assumed. The Federal Council decided on 04.12.2020 to evacuate the former ammunition depot and commissioned an expanded project organization with the planning and design of the corresponding works. The project organization includes the cross-cutting theme « Technical investigations », which coordinates and manages inter alia the work related to hydrological surveys and investigations, as well as hydrological monitoring during planning and implementation. This call for tender aims to procure the hydrology mandate for support during planning and implementation works.
