Planning Competitions – Canton Ticino

Ticino, Switzerland's only fully Italian-speaking canton, is a distinctive competition region. A strong architectural culture (Ticino School, Botta, Galfetti, Snozzi) has created a tradition of quality planning competitions. Lugano, Bellinzona and Locarno are the most active clients; many competitions concern tourist heritage, lakeside design and school buildings.

Competitions are almost exclusively in Italian. International participation from nearby northern Italy is common.
